Today, as a nutrition coach, when I meet people like you who struggle with a variety of thyroid conditions , I realize that many of
unaware of some very important facts that are critical in healing the thyroid.
Let me tell you about FACT #1
enemy. As a result of this ongoing attack on the thyroid, the gland starts failing and becomes either under- or over-active.
We don’t know for sure why it happens, but it does. Western medicine has nothing to offer to calm the immune system, so most doctors won’t
even tell you this piece. The good news is: it’s easy to find out; just insist your doctor tests for your antibodies.
OK, so perhaps this was your first “aha” moment.
Let me tell you about FACT #2
Do you know where the immune system lives? If you don’t it’s OK — most people do not know this.
Well, it’s in the digestive track; our small and large intestine, aka as “the gut”.
It’s very likely that you are frequently constipated, gassy, bloated, or in pain after eating. It’s not unlikely that you crave sugar,
starchy carbs, coffee, or salty food. I would also guess that you might be at times feeling lethargic or uncomfortable after a meal.
Most people think it’s “normal” to experience these symptoms. Well, it is NOT normal. In fact, each digestive irregularity, craving or
energetic drop is a clear sign that your digestive system needs your help, it needs to be restored and rebalanced.
OK, this brings us to FACT #3
Are you putting the pieces together yet? So one piece here was : most thyroid conditions are related to an inflamed immune system. The
second piece is that the immune system lives in your gut.
You can probably guess from here that fact #3 is : in order to heal your thyroid, we need to heal and seal your digestive track.
Hippocrates said: “You are what you eat.” — something that many people heard and believe in. He also said: “All disease begins in the
gut.” This is why once your digestive system is in order, wonderful things will start happening for you — in terms of your weight, energy
levels, moods, depression, anxiety and alertness, and maybe fertility so you feel like you can get your life back on track.
This is why a big part of the work we will be doing together revolves around restoring the health of the digestive track. This means
eliminating food allergies and intolerances, addressing food cravings, balancing out the good versus bad bacteria flora in your gut and
so much more.
I hope this short video provided you with some “aha” moments.
But, having “aha” moments is not enough to heal your thyroid and reclaim your health and life. You’ve got to understand what is the root
of the disease, what’s causing it and how to address it. And most importantly, take action. As when there is no action, there are no
results, no healing. So, get out of the cycle of doing the same thing over and over like one fad diet after another, expecting a different
