When the liver contains an excessive amount of fat and the normal healthy liver tissue is partly replaced with areas of unhealthy fats, It is known as Fatty Liver…….Unfortunately it may take a long time to give rise to the signs & Symptoms…
The common Risk Factors are Metabolic- Syndrome X
Obesity, Diabetes,(NAFLD)
Alcoholism
Consuming excess Fruits/sugar,
Hypoxia
Hepatitis-C.
Starvation
GENETIC
Signs & Symptoms:-
.Usually causes “No Symptoms”
Fatigue- Weakness
Anorexia, Nausea , Vomiting
Dry mouth,
Weight loss or loss of appetite
PAIN in the center or right upper part of the abdomen usually dull and intermittent/under the rib cage, SKIN Patchy, dark discoloration, usually on the neck or under arm ,
Edema:- Pedal edema ,
Facial puffiness , Fever
CNS Confusion, impaired judgment, or trouble concentrating
An enlarged liver.
Management:-
Vitamin E can be used for treating NASH, but it should be used selectively
Small studies have shown some benefit with omega-3-fatty acids in reducing liver fat in NAFLD,Weight reduction-1-2pounds /week
Abstinance of alcohol
Before-During & After Treatment Reduce the consumption of sugar
Food that is low on fat and saturated oil.
Eat lots of vegetables that are high in fiber.
Regular exerciseRapid weight loss may have a negative impact upon the progression of liver injury.
Gradual weight reduction, with as little as a 5 to 10% loss of initial body weight over 6 months is recommended.
