Pre-biotics are fuel for our probiotics and they have been found in a recent study out of the University of Colorado Boulder to improve sleep quality by increasing the NON-REM sleep in rats. Non-REM sleep has been associated with more rest and rejuvenation at night.
Interestingly, they also found in the prebiotic group that when introduced to a stressful stimuli the REM sleep increased which lessened the physiological impact of the stress.
