Erin Chamerlik, MS, MT (ASCP) will be discussing current information on type 2 diabetes, a disease that has doubled over the past 15 years. The Centers for Disease Control estimates one in three people will have the disease by 2050. Efforts are traditionally focused on treating the key symptom, elevated blood glucose levels, with medication that lowers glucose while at the same time raising insulin levels. This archaic approach ignores the many nutritional and lifestyle changes that can be implemented to address the root cause of diabetes, the standard American diet and lifestyle choices.

The great news is that significant reductions in hyperglycemia and reversal of symptoms of type 2 diabetes, is possible with a comprehensive approach utilizing an individualized whole food diet, a comprehensive supplement program and lifestyle changes that address stress, sleep, exercise and environmental toxins.

Erin will share a highly successful approach to reversing type 2 diabetes and bring current research gleaned during her master’s thesis work at Hawthorn University.

Erin Chamerlik, MS, MT (ASCP) holds a Masters of Science Degree in Holistic Nutrition Education from Hawthorn University. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin and completed a Medical Technology internship at Rockford Memorial Hospital, working in the field of hematology and chemistry. She was board certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Erin is the founder of Get Better Wellness, a holistic nutrition education company in Antioch, IL. She is passionate about helping people Get Better through a systematic approach to healthy living involving nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle choices. She specializes in community education, using a straight-talking humorous style to help people sort through the confusing messages regarding nutrition to reach their optimal health and wellness goals.
