We brought a bunch of health monitoring equipment up White Mountain Peak with us so that we could see how our body function would change in response to the low air pressures related to high altitude. I highly recommend that high altitude adventurers use a pulse oximeter to monitor their blood hemoglobin oxygen saturation so that they can avoid hurting themselves. It isn’t clear to me at this time what SPO2 levels are acceptable and how long a lower limit would be acceptable. I suggest that each individual discuss this with their doctor or a high altitude or sports specialist.
